I’ve always been quite a big lover of books. There is just something about getting lost in the pages, especially in a physical book that I have loved most of my life. I have had my fair share of reading slumps over the years. But out of all of the books that I have read here are my top 5 recommendations for a good read. (No spoilers)
Nr.1-Everything is f*cked by Mark Manson.

Everything is f*cked is one of those books where it really starts off with a bang. On the front page it says it’s a book about hope and well it surely is but not in the way you would think. Mark left me absolutely speechless. After reading this book I looked at everything in a completely different way and questioned most things. I highly recommend reading this book as it was an easy read and kept me on the edge of my seat.
Nr.2-Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur.

Milk and honey were one of the first poetry books I read. What is there not to love about this book. I read it for the first time when I was young and re-read some of the poems recently. Its one of those books for me that no matter where life has me, I can always relate or fall back to these gorgeous poems. I have so much that I can say about this book but truly it speaks for itself.
Nr.3-In the café of lost youth by Patrick Modiano.

To say I was on my toes the whole time while I was reading the café of lost youth would be a understatement. Seeing the story of a young women from different perspectives. (I had to keep proper track of what was going on) Reading about how she connected to all these people who were giving us the image of her. This book was excellent I loved every moment of it. I have never read anything like this not just the different POV’s but how they all come together. I will definitely be picking up this book again.
Nr.4- The sun and her flowers by Rupi Kaur.

Again stunning. The sun and her flowers is another poetry book that I love so deeply. In this book there were two chapters that I especially loved “Rising“ and “Blooming”. In this book some of the poems where a bit longer than usual but the impact is just as powerful. Most of the poems in this book are being supported by beautiful illustrations. This book is 100 percent worth the read.
Nr.5-Love by design by Nora Roberts.

Love by Design was my First ever Nora Roberts book. I bought it at a second-hand store for like R45 just because the cover was pretty and I wanted more books. Little did I know that I will get sucked into the world of Nora Roberts writing. Love by Design is split into two Stories. “Loving Jack” and “Best laid plans.” Loving Jack is my favorite story as it might sound cliché but there is something I love about writers falling in love even if it’s under peculiar circumstances. I will always and for ever recommend Nora Roberts’ books. If mostly only read her romance books but judging by them I think the other genres will be just as great.
