Romanticizing Your Life?

Romanticizing your life. This is something I have heard and read about so much on social media the last few years. It was one of those things I thought “ooh well here goes another trend that will make most average people feel shitty and we will all be consumed by it and then it will pass.”

As the saying says curiosity killed the cat

I am the cat so when I’m curious about something I will find out more about it ; I did a bit of research on what romanticizing your life actually is. Amongst further inspection I actually like the concept of romanticizing one’s life. Personally, I think we should all romanticize our life’s more.

How I’ve been Romanticizing my life bit by bit:

  • I’ve been reading more and allowing my self to read until when I want, with a soft blanket, a heater and a nice hot beverage to make myself feel cozy.
  • I’ve been sitting outside more or even laying on grass and just taking everything around me in.
  • While I drive I listen to my music in my car as loud as I want and just enjoy myself. (This sometimes make me feel like a main character in a early 2000’s movie.

These might be silly little things, but you can’t expect to make drastic changes overnight, and for now these few things make me happy and content. And honestly make my life feel just a tad more whimsical. In these little moments I feel my life is actually being lived and felt in the deepest parts of me.

Adding these little things to your daily routine can sparkle that needed joy in your life. Small steps are better than no steps, and every step helps you get further and to appreciate the view. Being present and noticing the little things around you is what I feel we all need.
