On today’s episode of Tranquil Tuesday I will be writing about energy I have always had a strong feeling of connectedness to the world and everything around me. Something I have noticed over the years is you only feel the connection between your energy and the energy of a tree or even your favorite sweater if you allow it.
Open-mindedness is where it all lays and always have. If you do not allow it and practice often you will struggle to break through that wall. For today’s post I would like you to do a small practice with me. Set a bit of time aside as rushing the process might interrupt the connection.
We will start with a small yoga practice. I don’t want you to beat yourself up if your balance is not perfect or your breathing pattern changes, the most important part is to acknowledge it and move past it, not to linger.

Let’s do a little yoga together
Personally I like doing my sessions with my eyes closed as much as possible, as this helps with connection and blocks out distractions.
- Sit on the center of your matt facing one of the edges
- Take deep breaths in through the nose and out through the mouth (I like breathing in for 4 and out for 4)
- Slowly go into child’s pose (Remember do not rush, don’t do it in slow-motion but do it slowly)
- Breath in child’s pose
- From child’s pose, push into downward dog. Again, stay for 4 breaths, focus on your breathing
- Walk to the front of the matt and forward fold (4 breaths)
- Put your hand just above your knees and push your body up, knees slightly bent so that your body shapes a 7 (Try and get your back flat by looking up)
- Repeat the forward fold twice (Remember to breath)
- From your 7, take your hand to your legs and put your fingers together in a finger gun with your arms straight
- Slowly from your bent knees shoot your finger guns up above your head pointing to the sky. (As you raise your arms, straighten your legs)
- Set an intention for what you want from this practice and envision it shooting out of your fingers into the universe as you raise your arms to the top
- Once your arms are at the top, tighten your whole body from your toes to your hands. (Remember to breath)
- Do this 3 more times
- After that do a forward fold
- Then slowly go to sitting position and close your eyes
- You can stay sitting or lay on your back and let the practice sink in while still breathing
- Take your time here, do not just jump up, and feel what’s happening in your body and around you.
Note: If you don’t feel anything the first time, practice helps.
Sometimes because of the excessive push for results in life we miss the little connections during our practice and after it. It’s not always opening your eyes and you hear birds singing and the sun shining bright. It might just be the smallest tug towards the floor while taking in your practice or your hands tingling.
The first step is to always be willing to allow the feelings and waves to come.
